According to reports from the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram a bar called the Milwaukee Burger Company had plans to burn Brett Favre Jerseys and memorabilia for next Monday Night’s division rivalry game between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. The bar is almost geocentric to Green Bay and Minneapolis, so they describe the regulars as half Packer Fans, half Vikings Fans.The idea was inspired by the Packer regulars and the word got out as the Associated Press picked up the story and the manager Julie Kolk and owner Kent Letnes did an interview for ESPN2.
The Eau Claire Fire Department is now allowing them to only burn one Favre Jersey and it must be done in a campfire container with a fire extinguisher at the ready.  They will also not be allowed to use any accelerants and must monitor the fire at all times.
The remaining items that were to be burned will be donated to Goodwill along with $10 for each item. The monetary donations are to go to a burn victims charity but that has caused a small backlash as well.
